Next meeting will be on Monday 14th July at 7.30pm in the Recreation Room. Members of the public are welcome to attend, and will have 10 minutes at the beginning of the meeting during which they may ask questions of the councillors.

Gardener’s Club

July 21st, visit to “Walks of life Heritage Centre,” Tuxford. Members discussed arrangements for the Club’s Annual Flower & Vegetable Show, which is to be held on Saturday 19th July in All Saints’ Church, Beckingham. Anyone can enter the show. Show programmes will be available from the beginning of June in Beckingham, Walkeringham and Misterton Post Offices. Members agreed that they would participate in the Marsh Fayre, which is to be held in Beckingham Village Hall on 20th September 12noon-5pm to raise funds for the RSPB. It was also agreed at the meeting that as from their next speaker meeting which is to be held on Monday September 15th the meetings will start at 7.30pm. If you are interested in gardening why not come and join the club which is very informal and friendly. As well as talks from interesting gardeners we also have trips to gardens and places of gardening interest.

Church Services

Thursday 10th July, Holy Communion at 9.30am. Sunday 13th, Fourth in Trinity, No Service at Beckingham, Holy Communion at Walkeringham at 9am. Thursday 17th, Holy Communion at 9.30am.

Whist Drive

On Saturday evening there was a Whist Drive in the Recreation Room in aid of Nottingham City Hospital Leukaemia Appeal and Mr H. Gourley was MC.There were five and a half tables in play. Winners were: Ladies: Mary Cook, Annie Gravel and Nesta Shardlow. Gents: Gerve Burkitt, Henry Gourley and Ian Bywater. Lowest scorers were Dorothy Mitchell and Dorothy Fotheringham. There will be a Whist Drive on Saturday July 12th at 7.15pm in aid of church funds.
