I WAS astonished to read the Standard's report regarding the driving test centre closing.
This is another cost cutting exercise that makes the figures look good but the practicalities of those it affects are not given a second thought.

Gainsborough is an improving and growing town as are Lincoln and Scunthorpe, so why increase these already at times gridlocked towns and cities with even more cars from Gainsborough.

I feel sorry for the younger people as this will only add to the already high expense of trying to learn, plus I would imagine there will be a reduction in booking time slots if the instructors are out of town.

The closure of the test centre, a hospital that closes at 8pm and a police station that is manned only between 9am to 5pm for somewhere like Gainsborough that is trying to attract new people with all of its improvements is totally unacceptable.

We should be moving forward with better facilities being offered, not needing to rely on places 15 to 20 miles away.
