Bus trips aren’t a nice experience

Travelling to Mansfield or Newark using public transport is a comfortable experience, especially when you reach their modern new bus stations.

Still trying to find old house

Thank you for printing my letter in the Gainsborough Standard ‘Trying to Find Former House’ 30th May with regards to a house I spent some time in when I was a little girl, which I believe was on Corringham Road during World War Two.

Another great night

I went to see Josephine Tewson’s show “Still Keeping up Appearances” at Trinity Arts Centre on Saturday evening.

Let’s put an end to this

I read the article headlining the disagreements that have recently taken place at the Beckingham Parish Council meetings.

Subscription is cancelled!

After having read the Ruth Harper article in today’s paper, I wholeheartedly agree with Ms Harper and feel the move to Marshall’s Yard, a private company owned site, by yourselves is a disgrace.

Police were very understanding

Recently I visited Tesco to purchase a mobile phone so I could keep in contact with my mum as she has been very ill.

Town centre comes back to life

Congratulations to Gainsborough Independent Retailers, for staging a super day of entertainment in the market place last Saturday.

Make your mind up!

Last week one could stop off at your office in the Market Place and congratulate you on your main headline ‘Use us or Lose us!’ in support of the Market Place.

Paper’s sad move

Yet another rat deserts the sinking ship! I am appalled at the

Train station needs face lift

We have lived in Walkeringham two years in August having moved from Wortley, Sheffield.

War time memories

Can anyone help? In the Summer of 1943, I spent some time in a house in Gainsborough when I was two and a half years old.

Demands of modern society

With reference to the article in the Gainsborough Standard on 9th May about lorries on the road, I think you need to research the demands of modern society before you go to print.

Traders inflict own problems

I write in reference to the article concerning shopping in the town centre. Most of the trading problems are ‘self-inflicted’.
