CHRYSANTHEMUM SHOW AT GAINSBOROUGH

THE 22nd exhibition of the Gainsborough and District Chrysanthemum Society was opened on Wednesday when in more respects than one a record was achieved.

There were more entries than received at any previous show, and in several sections a higher degree of excellence was reached, while the display of vegetables excelled any previous exhibition.

There was a large attendance and chairman Dr Molson was cheered when he rose, saying there were two recognised duties which a chairman had to perform; the first was to introduce the chief speaker, Mrs Bentham, and the other was to keep order. He said the exhibition compared well with other shows he had seen.
