‘We can B&Q it’
B & Q in Gainsborough have donated gardening equipment and plants to Clayton House Residential Care Home G120121-1
A NUMBER of Gainsborough community groups have been given a boost with a little help from hardware superstore B&Q.
The store opened late last year - and has busied itself with making generous donations to several good causes. The latest of which are Willingham Cub Scouts and Clayton House Residential Care Home.
The Willingham Cubs were given wood to make birdhouses as part of their ‘Caring Challenge’.
“They’ve really been enjoying themselves,” said cub leader Penny Dunderdale. “It’s something we do every year as part of the RSPB’s annual British Garden Birdwatch campaign.”
She continued: “It’s amazing how much they’ve learned about birds and I think it’s important for the younger generation to learn more about nature - hopefully it will rub off on the adults too.”

Penny added: “We are very grateful to B&Q - we wouldn’t have been able to do this without their kind donation.”
Amanda Shaw from the Clayton House Residential Care Home said that they were thrilled to receive the donation of gardening equipment and plants for their new allotments.
“We’re doing this because we’re just trying to maximise the potential of the residents here,” she said.
“We’re trying more things like this to give them more to do, keep them occupied and stimulated and to support the local community because they should be able to sell their produce at the end of it.”
Amanda added: “B&Q donated so much stuff to us - we feel really lucky and grateful.”
