SUNSHINE and celebrations were enjoyed by all as the community of Laughteron came together for a charity fun day at the Friendship Inn.

Families flocked to the pub to enjoy a range of activities and entertainment to help raise cash for the Lincoln Oncology Unit.

The pub pulled out all of the stops with a bouncy castle, face-painting, live music, a range of stalls and a charity auction selling off everything from meals and car repair to golf lessons and signed Bobby Robson football boots.

Landlord Mark Pearce said it was ‘a fantastic day for everyone’.

“We had most of the village down at one point or another,” he said.

“All in all we raised over £1,350 - which is absolutely fantastic. We chose the Lincoln Oncology Unit because cancer has effected so many people in the village - including our regulars and our staff’s family.”

He continued: “We decided that would be a very worthwhile cause and we’re delighted to have raised so much.”

Mark added: “I’d just like to say a huge thank you to all of my staff for working their socks off, and to all of the local businesses who donated and to all our local residents and regulars for making it such a fantastic day.”
