Sporty kids are tested in special training session

Pupils at Whites Wood Lane Junior School took part in a fitness challenge with athlete Harry Owen G130201-1e

SPORTY youngsters from Whites Wood Lane Primary School in Gainsborough were put through their paces with a special training session from a top athlete.

Harry Owen from Sports For Schools went along to deliver a sponsored fitness circuit that all the children completed under his instruction.

“After the circuit I hosted a whole school assembly giving a talk about my gymnastics career and also giving some demonstrations,” said Harry.

The kids had a great time during their session and talk from such an inspiration and experienced athlete.

“I have been an international gymnast for Wales for about 10 years and competed at various competitions such as the Commonwealth Games and also the Junior Commonwealth Games,” said Harry.

He continued: “I’ve also been competing at European championships and many other open internationals.”

“I was the all around youth Commonwealth bronze medalist two years ago and was also ranked second in Britain at the under 18 age category.”
