GAINSBOROUGH community groups are being urged to apply for thousands of pounds of funding that could help transform local communities and improve environments across Lincolnshire.

Not-for-profit environmental body WREN distributes grants worth between £2,000 - £75,000 to community projects across on behalf of waste management company FCC Environment.

It also provides grants of up to £250,000 for conservation and heritage projects.
