NEWS: The Gainsborough Standard

THE GAINSBOROUGH and District branch of the Royal British Legion are inviting everyone to their next meeting.

The meeting will follow a ceremony at 1.30 pm when the High Sheriff of Lincolnshire, Mr John Burke, will present awards for services over the years to the annual Poppy Appeal.

It will be held on Thursday 21st February at the United Services Club, Bridge Street, Gainsborough.

Membership of the Legion is open to everyone, whether they have served in the Armed Forces or not.

A spokesman said: “We also welcome individuals and organisations who can give some time to help with this year’s Poppy Appeal in November.”
