Rotary Club splashes the cash

A major fund-raising event, the Bonfire and Fireworks Display, was the focus of attention at the latest meeting of the Gainsborough Rotary Club.

Roger Ferguson, the area co-ordinator for Lives, and Miriam Roberts, of 203 Squadron, Air Training Corps, both received cheques for £500. The two groups had also played an important role at the Rotary Pedal Car Grand-Prix, held last August. Bruce Linegar, chairman of Lea Parish Council, also received a cheque for £500 in for the use of Lea Park, whilst Phil Cooper of Lea Cricket Club, received £250 for the use of their facilities.
