ARTY kids from Frances Olive Anderson Primary School in Lea were rewarded for their talents after winning a special Christmas competition at the local B&Q store.

The hardware and DIY store ran a Christmas art competition for local schools - but all of the winning pictures came from children at Lea Frances Olive Anderson School.

The WH Smith vouchers were presented by B&Q staff to:

l 1st prize (£20) - James Redwood, aged 7

l 2nd prize (£10) - Olivia Briggs, aged 7

l 3rd prize (£5) - Daisy Foster, aged 9

“Art from all the children in the school were entered into the competition and we are very pleased that the artistic talents of our children were recognised,” said school headteacher Jean Dagg.

“We would like to thank B&Q for their involvement in schools and for donating a lovely tree for our hall.”
