Improvement plans for train station
Lea Road Station.
THIS year will also see improvements being made to Lea Road train station.
Development to the station was first promised in the Gainsborough Growth Point Plain, as part of a scheme to improve public transport in the wake of the town doubling in size.
Pressure to improve facilities increased when rail fairs increased at the beginning of this month.
A spokesperson from West Lindsey District Council said: “We are discussing potential improvements at Lea Road station with Lincolnshire County Council and East Midlands Trains”
A representative from East Midlands Trains continued: “We are continuing to work with West Lindsey District Council and Lincolnshire County Council to reduce levels of anti-social behaviour at the station and to make improvements for the future.”
“We have recently held a meeting with both local authorities to discuss the installation of the CCTV at the station.”
He added: “In addition, I understand there will be an increase in foot patrols by Police Community support officers.”
