Gainsborough news

The monthly meeting of Gainsborough and District Heritage Association revealed that during the past month, the Rotary Club had visited and toured the building.

The archive will benefit from new material on the Amateur Operatic Society, also furniture, children’s toys and household items.

A bequest from Miss Dorothy J. Beavan will go towards the cost of the lift which will be installed shortly. This year is also the 70th anniversary of the Dam Busters and the bouncing bomb.

A new project, but one which has been in the pipeline, is a service to schoolchildren in the form of circulating boxes containing artefacts and information. Also, the National Postal Museum and Archive will send an exhibition free of charge.
