Get involved in Octoberfest

Gainsborough Town Council is keen to build on the success of the first two Octoberfests by encouraging local businesses and organisations to get involved.

Last year’s event saw lots of local organisations raise awareness of their events by taking part.

The month-long series of events included dance, theatre, comedy, craft fayres, music and culminated in the famous Gainsborough Beer and Folk Festivals

Gary Cooke from the town council said it was a great opportunity for anyone who wanted to help the town whilst raising their own profile.

“This year’s Octoberfest’s plans are underway but it is definitely not too late to get involved,” he said.

“This is a great opportunity to freely promote organisations’ events and to make the community aware of what goes on in Gainsborough.”

Gary continued: “Gainsborough Town Council does all the work for you – so why not join the 2011 Octoberfest?”

“You don’t even have to attend the meetings if you don’t wish.”

“All you need to do is supply me details of the events or activities you are arranging for October and I’ll publicise it through the media and the Octoberfest brochure.”

He added: “Don’t forget – this publicity is all for free.”

The next Octoberfest meeting is on Wednesday 29th June 2011 at 7.30pm at Richmond House, Richmond Park, Gainsborough.
