A CHRISTMAS coffee morning in Carlton has raised more than £500 for charity.

The event at the Grey Horses on Saturday raised money for Father Showry’s work with the orphan children and the poor in his Diocese in South India.

Those attending got the chance to snap up gifts as well as entering a raffle and tombola.

Organisers thanked everyone who attended and landlady Sally and her family for making the event possible. The raffle winners were Bombay Spice voucher - Sharon, wine - A Roake, M Turner, J Hopkins, Linda and Sally. Snowdrops vouchers - J Burton and E Smith, toiletries - Mrs Elgy, beauty salon voucher - S Robinson, vase - Mrs Wood, doll - Nan.
